I was commissioned to shoot the 2023 NuArt Aberdeen street art project. These portraits were taken in the Anatomy Rooms - creative spaces in Aberdeen housed in the former anatomy department of Aberdeen University.
Considering the setup for these portraits, I wanted to create a contrast to reflect the position of street art and artists within the wider art context - through the rough-and-ready studio set up in a dusty old room, using a dust sheet as a backdrop - with a posed, more traditional portrait within the frame.
